Phan Van Huu, Head of Management Board of Tuong Binh Hiep communal house, said he had been attached to this this place for a long time and officially supervised, contributed to renovate the temple since 2006. One year later, in 2007, Tuong Binh Hiep communal house was recognized as province-level historical monument. The house is located in quarter 2, Tuong Binh Hiep ward, TDM City. Mr. Huu recalled that the senior in the village had said that the house was built in 1939 and at that time was made of bamboo leaves. The communal house was repaired twice in 1982 and 10 years later, in 1992, it was restored again. Particularly recently, People's Committee of TDM City funded the restoration of this temple. The restoration was meticulous, careful to keep the original state of artifacts. Worship items were sent to Hue for restoration. Management board and in-charge persons also came directly to Hue to check the progress, quality of the restoration. "Hopefully everything will be smoothly so that it would be finished in time for the worshiping day on lunar 12th Oct", Mr. Huu said.
Tran My Le, Deputy Head of TDM City Office of Culture, said the city had started the restoration of this relic in 2017. This restoration was the concern about preserving historical monuments at provincial level. All were done to show the respect for traditional cultural monuments as well as original architectures. Every detail of artifacts was carefully done to maintain the original.
Van Thi Thuy Trang, Head of provincial Management Board of historical monuments – landscapes, said communal houses were traditional cultural institutions of the Vietnamese, formed in around the early 15th century and soon popular in the northern delta. Following the footsteps of trailblazers, communal houses appeared in Binh Duong in around the end of 17th century and have developed until now. According to Ms. Trang, Tuong Binh Hiep communal house is one of temples retaining the old architecture after restoration and conservation. She also appreciated the restoration of artifacts in Hue. This is also the required mind and heart to preserve traditional cultural institutions for the next generation.
