Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Unal Cevikoz paid a visit to Vietnam from Jan. 19-21.
While in Vietnam, Deputy FM Unal Cevikoz had a political consultative conference with Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Doan Xuan Hung, and also met with leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and visited some economic and cultural establishments in Hanoi.
At the political consultative conference--the first of its kind--the two sides discussed measures to further boost multifaceted cooperation, especially in trade, between Vietnam and Turkey.
They also exchange views on international issues of mutual concern.
They both agreed to try their best to develop the scale and effectiveness of the economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The Turkish diplomat praised Vietnam’s position in the region and on the international arena and expressed his wish to further boost cooperation between the two countries in all fields to push bilateral trade turnover to 1 billion USD in 2010.
