The France Year in Vietnam was launched at a ceremony in Hanoi on April 9 with the attendance of Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh and visiting French Minister for Foreign Trade Nicole Bricq.

Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Angel Gurria has hailed Vietnam as a success in meeting millennium development goals (MDGs) and taking new approaches to social cohesion and poverty reduction.

Vietnam proposed to establish a group of experts to overcome consequences of unexploded ordnance left from wars at the ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADSOM) in Brunei on April 2.

 Dung made the suggestion on April 4 at a reception for Belarusian Economic Minister Nicolai Snopkov who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Minister Thanh hailed the Russian official’s working visit, expressing his belief that it will strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two governments and people, as well as between his ministry and RFSS.

A high-ranking delegation from the Vietnam Supreme People’s Procuracy (VSPP) led by Procurator General Nguyen Hoa Binh visited Cuba from March 25-29 to strengthen the friendship and co-operation with the island country’s judicial agencies.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged expansion of Vietnam-Russia co-operation in the oil and gas sector, particularly in oil and gas investment projects in Russia and processing.
