Vietnamese athletes will compete in six out of 22 events, which are taekwondo, swimming, track-and-field, chess, wrestling and boxing. They are hopeful of winning medals in wrestling, chess and swimming.
The games, held every four years since 1996 in the Sakha Republic, give Asian young athletes a chance to meet at sports venue and exchange their traditional values.
This year’s event draws athletes from 39 countries and territories.
