Nguyen Dang Tien, director general of Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen talked about broadcast cooperation on August 14 with an audience in the capital city of Phnom Penh.
“Since 2008 VOV is proud to announce that it has helped the National Radio of Cambodia station construct 15 FM radio stations with capacities ranging from two to 20 kilowatts and modernize its broadcast equipment,” Tien said.
Tien went on to add that he looks forward to continuing support and broadcasting more news, documentaries and programs with the aim of strengthening the mutually beneficial ties of friendship between the two nation’s peoples.
PM Hun Sen in turn thanked Tien for his and the Vietnam government’s avid support saying it was instrumental in helping Cambodia develop nationwide radio coverage in the Khmer language.
In addition, PM Hun Sen proposed the two national radios step up cooperation along the border areas to adjust and fix radio frequencies so that they don’t overlap and unnecessarily interfere with reception.
Earlier on the same day, Director General Tien and his entourage met with leaders from the National Television of Cambodia and the National Radio of Cambodia to discuss training Cambodian technicians to help them master modern technology.
At the meeting Cambodian Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith presented the Royal Order of Cambodia to Director General Tien.
