Vietnam wins 3 golds at Int’l Maths Olympiad

The Vietnamese team, comprised of students, won 3 gold and 3 silver medals at the 2013 International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), the Ministry of Education and Training announced on July 27. The three gold medallists are Pham Tuan Huy, an 11th grader, and Can Tran Thanh Trung, a 12th grader, both from the Gifted High School under the HCM City-based National University, and Vo Anh Duc, a 12th grader from the Ha Tinh Gifted High School. The silver medals went to Hoang Do Kien from Vinh Phuc Gifted High School, Tran Dang Phuc from the Gifted High School under the Hanoi-based National High School, and Dinh Le Cong from the Gifted High School under Vinh University in central Nghe An province. This year’s maths competition was held in Colombia. with the participation of 97 countries and territories. Vietnam ranked seventh – their highest achievement since 2008. VOV
