Vietnamese, French communist parties strengthen ties

Vietnam’s relationship with the French Communist Party (PCF) and people of France is of great importance to the Vietnamese Party, State and people.

The statement was made by the head of a delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam ( CPV ) attending the 36th Congress of the French Communist Party, which opened in Seine-Saint-Denis on February 7.

Pierre Laurent, who was re-elected the PCF’s National Secretary, received Nguyen Van Thanh, member of CPV Central Committee and Secretary of Hai Phong city’s Party Committee.

At the reception, he spoke highly of Vietnam’s achievements during its renewal period, the construction of socialism and Vietnam ’s foreign policies, as well as the role, prestige and experience of the CPV.

Laurent expressed his belief that the sound relationship and friendly cooperation between the two parties will develop even stronger, especially after 40 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
