Viet Nam and Laos should make new hallmarks in 2012 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties, said PM Nguyen Tan Dung.

The Vietnamese Government chief made the point on April 25 in Hà Nội while meeting with Lao National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathotou who is now in Viet Nam for the conference on Viet Nam-Laos Parliamentary Cooperation Relations, Solidarity and Friendship.
Both sides held that the special friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos are valuable assets of the two countries and peoples.
PM Dung called upon the two sides to boost the bilateral ties, particularly in such fields of economics, trade, investment, education and training to mark the Friendship Year.
The Lao NA Chairwoman hoped that Vietnamese businesses would reinforce their firm niche and contribute to social welfare efforts in Laos.
She proposed that the two side should enhance people-to-people exchanges, strengthen linkages in border areas, as well as cooperate to build Viet Nam-Laos borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and share experience of development./.
