National Judo champs 2017 opens

A ceremony to open the National Judo Championships 2017 has just held at Binh Duong provincial Physical Training and Sports Center’s Sporting Event Hall.

This year’s tournament has absorbed 23 units nationwide. Athletes will vie for 18 sets of medals in 2 team events and 16 individual events for women’s 45kg-78kg weight categories and men’s 55kg-78kg weight categories.

This is the first time Binh Duong has hosted the tournament. On the first competition day, Nguyen Tan of Binh Duong won 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal in the men’s under 66kg-weight category.

The tournament will last until June 24.
