Tan Uyen’s industrial, urban development in right direction

In the first half of 2020, Tan Uyen town made efforts in absorbing investment projects and arranging them in line with the local urban and industrial development orientations with the province’s regulations well realized.

Production value on growth

Despite the impacts from Covid-19 pandemic, Tan Uyen town still reached positive results in socio-economic development over the past six months.

Particularly, the town’s industrial production value was estimated at more than VND10.36billion, up 5.5% compared to the same period last year. Of these, the domestic investment sector reached VND3.49trillion, up 5.5% against the corresponding period last year while the foreign investment sector was VND6.87trillion, up 4.23% over the same period last year. The town’s People’s Committee also granted business registration certificates to 550 cases (up 183 compared to the same period last year) with total capital of VND291billion (up VND12.24billion against the same corresponding last year).

The town also absorbed additional 102 domestic investment projects, up 75 compared to the same period last year, with total registered capital of more than VND4.48trillion. So far, the town has had a total of 1,266 businesses licensed with total registered capital of more than VND14.89trillion...There were also additional 5 FDI projects with total registered capital of US$5million, bringing the total number of FDI projects in the town so far up 602 with total registered capital of more than US$3.88trillion…The town’s State budget collection was estimated at more than VND1.41trillion or 88% compared to the same period last year…

Appropriate investment projects

Tan Uyen town has continued absorbing and arranging investment projects appropriately towards sustainable development. Till now, the town has basically fulfilled a plan on adjustment of the local overall development to 2040 and it is expected to submit into provincial Department of Construction for assessment in Q3, 2020. This is the important premise for the town to strengthen urban management at requirements of the local sustainable development.

Over the past six months, the town continued making urban rejuvenation, infrastructure investment, improving the quality of criteria of a third-class city. Noticeably, the town carried out the partial adjustment of Tan Hiep ward’s 1/2,000-scale zoning planning to 2030 in order to develop the 125-hectare Tan Hiep urban area. The town also realized procedures for the partial adjustment of Uyen Hung ward’s 1/2,000-scale zoning planning to 2030 for the implementation of South Tan Uyen-Binh Duong trade-urban area with 315 hectares.

According to Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen town’s People’s Committee, the town will bend on directing the implementation of socio-economic development plan for 2020. The town will well realize solutions of the Government and provincial People’s Committee while focusing on Covid-19 prevention and control, ensuring social welfare and order security, striving to fulfill and surpass the set targets. In addition, the town will continue absorbing and arranging investment projects in line with the local urban and industrial development orientations with the province’s regulations ensured.

The town’s People’s Committee has also urgently conducted sectors, the People’s Committees of communes, wards to make investment procedures for works under the local public investment plan in 2020, hastened the progress of construction of transition works. As of June 30, 2020, the province’s total disbursement value for public investment capital was more than VND186.44trillion or 37.34% of the plan.
