On August 4, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a council meeting to evaluate and recognize the title of "Binh Duong artisans", "Excellent craftsmen of Binh Duong province" in 2020.
According to reports, Rural Development Office (under Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) - the permanent agency of the recognition council of the title Binh Duong artisans and excellent craftsmen - received 31 applications for the title's recognition in 2020. Among these, 29 records applied for the title "Artisans of Binh Duong province", 2 records for the title "Excellent craftsmen of Binh Duong province" in 2020. The proposed titles for recognition are in trades, like: Ornamental creatures, fruit forming and decoration, ornamental fish farming, lacquer painting, wood sculpturing. After evaluation, 26 records were recognized by Provincial People's Committee for "Artisans of Binh Duong province", 2 records for the title "Excellent craftsmen of Binh Duong province" in 2020.
The recognition of titles of artisans, skilled craftsmen, and persons who helped bringing a new trade to the province is important as acknowledging and honoring the contributions of these people. In addition, this recognition also aimed to encourage artisans, craftsmen to maintain, develop the trades, and attract new sectors into the province; restore the traditional crafts in decline, contributing to creating employments for local workers.
