The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and budget airline Jetstar Pacific have cancelled flights and made adjustments to others due to the impact of typhoon MUN.
Airlines cancel flights due to typhoon Mun
To ensure the safety of passengers, the two airlines have adjusted flight plans to and from Cat Bi airport in the northern city of Hai Phong on July 3.
For example, Vietnam Airlines cancelled flights VN1192 and VN1193 between Hai Phong and HCM City, while Jetstar Pacific will adjust flights BL594 and BL595 between Hai Phong and HCM City. Rather than landing at Cat Bi airport, the flights will instead land at Noi Bai international airport.
Furthermore, other flights ran by the two airlines will also be affected accordingly due to changes in flight plans.
Passengers on flights affected by typhoon Mun will receive support from the two airlines according to existing regulations and will be moved to other flights free of charge, depending on the availability of seats.
Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific have regularly updated information on weather conditions and advised passengers who have plans to travel from the affected airports namely Cat Bi, Van Don, Noi Bai, Tho Xuan, and Vinh to strictly monitor the latest news released by the airlines.
