Most of them were brought to school by parents, which made the small school yard became crowded. Most parents are immigrant workers, they have just bought uniform for their children right before this day. Some pupils were still afraid of the new school, new learning life style. Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Khanh, teacher of grade 1.5, said, to first grade pupils, they had to train everything from sitting posture, how to show their mini blackboards, how to hold pens, and how to line up… 1,500 pupils of Tan Phuoc Khanh high school (Tan Uyen district) were in a boisterous brouhaha of laughter and talk at the first school day. Teacher Trinh Thi Mai was reading school regulations for pupils. She said, within the first week, teacher will universalize regulations, arrange seats, class monitors, and make recommendations of uniform, books, class discipline. Principal Lam Thi Bich Lien said, in the last school year, educational quality of their school made a positive evolvement, namely, 85.28% pupils admitted to 10th grade, 9/11 pupils admitted to Hung Vuong gifted high school. In 2013-2014 school year, the school will continue to renovate teaching methods, arrange gathering exams to improve quality. Pupils in rural areas were also busy going to schools. Phu Giao district has 20,000 pupils of all levels. Schools finished enrolment before the school year started. Some primary schools have not finished 100% enrolment target like Phuoc Vinh A, An Linh, Phuoc Sang, Vinh Hoa A, Phuoc Vinh B, An Binh A, which are persuading children to go to school. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Head of Phu Giao Education – Training Office, said, during the first week, teachers would finish class organization, arrange regulation learning, introduce school structure and tradition, recommend preparation of books, school supplies… Schools renovated material facilities beforehand, like: class rooms, school gates, restrooms, tables and chairs, blackboards, functional class rooms and equipment. Phu Giao Education – Training Office purchased some new equipment for the new school year. Motto of this new school year defined by educational – training sector is “Renew essence, improve effectiveness and sustainable quality”.
