Today, April 27, Binh Duong province organizes a ceremony starting construction and development of Bau Bang urban-industrial zone. It will contribute to promoting the urban-industrial development of Bau Bang district, creating the foundation, motivation for the locality to soon become a huge industrial hub as well as a district of Binh Duong when being developed into a centrally-controlled municipality by 2020.
Change of local image
Along with gigantic urban-industrial development of Binh Duong in general and Ben Cat in particular, the birth of Bau Bang urban-industrial zone is seen as an indispensable affirmation in the development trend of the local flexible economic area full of potential.
A glance of Bau Bang urban-industrial zone
As approved, Bau Bang urban-industrial zone covers 2,200 hectares, including 1,000 hectares for industrial development and 1,200 hectares for resettlement, with the rate of land tenancy reaching 95%. It has to date absorbed 95 foreign and domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of US$1.2bln.
Le Khac Tri, Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People’s Committee said that most locals previously earned their living from rubber trees in association with animal husbandry. There is a synchronous and modern investment in terms of the local infrastructure since Bau Bang urban-industrial zone has been formed up. Many households herein have also switched to earning their living by trade-services activities. Upon this, the district’s sector of trade-services has got thriving, contributing to improving locals’ lives and forming up the local urban image.
Economic growth promoted
Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex IDC) has continued expanding Bau Bang urban-industrial zone by 1,000 hectares under a plan on adjustment of province-based industrial parks till 2020, which was approved by the Prime Minister on Jan.28, 2016. The expansion has brought the zone’s total area to more than 3,200 hectares.
According to representative of Becamex IDC, the corporation’s project on further expanding the zone has aimed to meeting the local demand for workforce, services and urban development while absorbing more investors.
Nguyen Ly Hong Vu, Chairman of Lai Hung communal People’s Committee said excitedly that when being expanded, Bau Bang urban-industrial zone will attract more people coming to live and work. This will promote services, facilitating the local economic development and raising locals’ income.
Mr.Tri affirmed that with a favorable geographical position plus well-built infrastructure…, Bau Bang urban-industrial zone has been continued expanding, which is in line with the district’s planning and development. He also believed that the expanded zone will promote the district’s economy, soon turning the district into a huge industrial hub of the province.
