Ben Cat District was known as a place of war, bearing tons of bombs and mines poured down by the US Army and its puppet government. In peacetime, Ben Cat District has regained its position as a pure agricultural locality; however, ever since 1997, the land has been transforming to a land of industrialization and urbanization. The favorable policies of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee have promote investments which took advantage of population density and vast land area. A corner of My Phuoc III Industrial Park in Ben Cat District In 2011, it was amazing for local authority to achieve total production value of VND 42,538.4 billion in growing rate of 20% covering economic structure of Industry (86.1%), services (7.7%), and agriculture (6.2%).After 37 year since the last sound of guns, the triangle of Bong Trang, Nha Do, and Bau Bang or the Highway No. 13 has become the best place for investment by giant factories of Kirin Acecook, Kumho Tires, and many more.As a result, local income per capita has reached VND 34.7 million a year.Currently, the 8 industrial parks covering 4,086ha have been erected along with 18 residential areas of 4,744ha to balance accommodation with development.It is expected that by 2015, Ben Cat District will have at least 3 major urban areas of industry-services-agriculture including My Phuoc, Southern Ben Ca, and Bau Bang.Under the regional planning approved by the government, Bau Bang area shall bear concentrated industrial parks and sattelite urban areas.
