Binh Duong gets new record at national youth athletics championship

The 2018 National Youth Athletics Championship took place at Thong Nhat Stadium in HCM city from August 5 to 8.

Binh Duong’s delegation with 19 athletes ranked third at the tournament with 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal at the tournament. Particularly, Do Dinh Chuong, Trinh Van Bao, Ho Tan Tai and Nguyen Trung Hau won a gold medal in the men’s 4x 800m event. Nguyen Van Chau won a gold medal in the men’s 200m event. Vo Minh Trieu, Nguyen Van Chau, Nguyen Duc Thang and Le Anh Vu pocketed a gold medal in the men’s 4x100 m event. Noticeably, the delegation set a new record in the men’s 4x 800m team with a time of 7:43:86.

The tournament aimed to select the best athletes for the national teams and prepare for the Southeast Asian Games 2019.
