Binh Duong ranks second in PCI

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Vietnam Competitiveness Initiative (VNCI) yesterday released the report on provincial competitiveness index, PCI 2009. Accordingly, the central city of Da Nang once again tops the 2009 provincial competitiveness index (PCI) ranking. Meanwhile, Hanoi fell two grades to the 33rd, while HCM City fell three grades to the 16th.

61 out of 63 provinces, cities showed a significant improvement in the ranking 2009. Provinces of Dien Bien, Tay Ninh, Kien Giang, Bac Giang and Quang Binh… surges 37 grades, 28, 16 and 13, respectively whilst Phu Tho fell 19 grades, Quang Ngai (17), Hoa Binh (16), Ha Nam (14), Nam Dinh and Nghe An (13)…

On the occasion, VCCI and VNCI presented prizes to excellent localities to encourage their efforts of business climate reform as well as cooperated with the Communist Magazine to hold a seminar themed “Sharing experience on business climate improvement between provinces and cities”.
