Binh Duong’s male cyclists has shown obvious progress at the ongoing Mekong Delta Cycling Tournament 2012.

With five cyclists, namely Nguyen Duc Loc, Le Tuan Linh, Le Quang Truc, Tran Thien Tam and Truong Thach Anh, Binh Duong’s cycling team made progress in each stage of the tournament. In the first stage, Binh Duong only took 14th position in the team rankings of the tournament with the participation of 19 strong teams across the province. The position was improved in the subsequent stages and in the sixth stage, Binh Duong ranked 11th in the team rankings. 

Outstanding cyclists at the Mekong Delta Cycling Tournament 2012

During the third and forth stages, Binh Duong’s cyclists excellently won many prizes. Cyclists Le Tuan Linh and Nguyen Duc Loc were among top 27 cyclists coming first in the 120km sixth stage, from Can Tho city to Long Xuyen. They had the same time of 2:49:55 with the stage’s winner Truong Nguyen Thanh Nhan of Eximbank HCM city 1. Other cyclist of Binh Duong, Le Quang Truc was also present in the group coming second with a total time of 2:50:02. The above result helped Binh Duong’s cycling team rank 7th in the sixth stage and 11th after six stages.

In the individual rankings, cyclist Le Tuan Linh of Binh Duong defeated strong cyclists, including Mai Nguyen Hung of Eximbank HCM city 1; Ho Van Phuc, Bui Minh Thuy of ADC-Vinh Long Television; Nguyen Nam Cuc of Eximbank HCM city 2…, to rank 19th among 92 participating cyclists. Other cyclists of Binh Duong, Quang Truc and Duc Loc, also ranked 38th and 39th after six stages.

Although winning results that were not great compared to top three teams at the tournament, Binh Duong’s cycling team has been on right track and worthy of being the hope for the future.
