The 3rd Southeast Asia Karatedo Championship 2014 inaugurated at Can Tho city sporting hall in the evening of April 16. Before the opening ceremony, Binh Duong’s karatedo players competed in the first competition events and took 2 gold medals and 1 silver one for the 14-15 ages. Specifically, athlete Tran Pham Viet Thong (63kg category) and Tran Nguyen Anh Sang (70kg category) grabbed 2 gold medals in the first competition day while Duong Thi Ngoc Ly took 1 silver medal in the weight of 47kg.

 

It is known that the tournament will compete in 3 categories including 14-15 ages, 16-17 ages and 18 ages and above. A delegation of Binh Duong provincial Sport and Gymnastics Gifted School sent 5 athletes to attend this championship.

 

Participating in the 3rd Southeast Asia Karatedo Championship 2014, aside from provinces and cities nationwide, there are other nations including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Lao, Brunei. The tournament will take place till the end of April 19, 2014.
