Binh Duong province is hosting the 3rd Southeastern Family Festival 2012 with many interesting contents. On this occasion, Binh Duong Daily had an interview with Nguyen Khoa Hai, deputy head of provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to know more about the event.

 What is the significance of the 3rd Southeastern Family Festival?

 The 3rd Southeastern Family Festival is hosted by Binh Duong province. The festival takes place when Binh Duong is organizing many signigicant activities to welcome Vietnam Family Day on June 28. Especialy, this is also the period Binh Duong is very delighted at the announcement ceremony of the establishment of TDM city, which will officially operate from July 1, 2012.

 With the importance of traditional family values, the Party and State have paid attention to family development via many movements and campaigns such as the campaigns of “The entire people consolidate to build cultural lifestyle in residential quarters”, “Exemplary grandparents, parents and virtuous and gentle descendants”...

 The results of the above campaigns and movements have become one of the postive elements, greatly contributing to building the equal, advanced, happy and sustainable families of the localities over the past time.

 Could you tell us about the main activities of the festival and the preparatory work of the host province and other localities?

 This year’s Southeastern Family Festival is organized at Thanh Le Cultural Park, with the participation of nearly 100 candidates from 18 outstanding families in Ba Rai-Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Binh Duong.

 During the three-day festival, familities will compete in art performance, sports, gastronomy…This is also a chance for them to exchange and share experience in building happy families and introduce the family cultural features of each locality, contributing to boosting solidarity between southeastern provinces.

 On behalf of the organizers, I sincerely thank leaders of the provinces for their attention and help to families participating in the festival and thank the  Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces for their good cooperation in organizing the festival as well as press agencies for their propagandic activities about the event.
