Every year, activities of taking care of laborers on Tet holiday take place lively. Granting bus tickets, Tet gifts and holding meetings for laborers who can not afford to come back their hometown for Tet bring a warm Spring for alien workers.
Bus routes full of love
Receiving free bus tickets for alien laborers, Dang Thi Kim Chi, chairwoman of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park’s trade union happily informed grassroot trade union cadres to send these tickets to alien laborers. Chi shared “Trade unionists and laborers are expecting to receive these bus tickets. This year, Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park’s trade union is allocated 131 free bus tickets”.
Holding a free bus ticket, Le Thi Anh Hoa, worker from Quang Binh province happily said “I always make efforts to save money for family reunion on Tet holiday”. Hoa is working at Tombow Co.Ltd. in VSIP I and pursuing a university course at Binh Duong University at night. Nguyen Van Hung, from Phu Yen province, worker of Tsuchiya Co.Ltd. said that his family in his hometown suffered a difficult life after the past storm. The free bus ticket helps him save money to support his parents on Tet holiday.
Bui Thanh Nhan, vice chairman of the provincial Labor Union said that trade union at all levels offered 1,220 free bus tickets for trade unionists and laborers. Beneficiaries are excellent trade unionists and laborers with working time of at least 2 years and above and difficult circumstance or traffic and labor accidents and more.
The program is for trade unionists and laborers from Phu Yen province to Ha Noi. On Feb. 15 ahead, buses will take alien workers to come back their hometown for Tet holiday. Aside from 1,220 free bus tickets from the provincial budget, many enterprises hold and support bus tickets for laborers. Until now, additional 9,300 bus tickets have been offered laborers.
Significant Tet gifts
On the coming Tet holiday, activities of granting gifts to laborers take place across the province. Nguyen Thi Giang, a poor worker of Active Company in Song Than II IP enjoyed Tet gifts from VSIP trade union.
Despite difficulties in production and business, many enterprises still take care of laborers’ Tet holiday. Bui Thanh Nhan said that trade union at all levels grant 8,900 gifts, each worth VND500,000 to needy laborers. In addition, grassroot trade union donates more 300,000 gifts to laborers with the total value of VND65bil. Especially, enterprises support more 100,000 gifts to workers with the total value of VND25bil.
