Those wondering where to go on Christmas and New Year holidays with family and friends can take a look at the following places in Ho Chi Minh City.
Aeon Mall Tan Phu in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Phu District has set up a huge snow village with temperatures under 10 Celsius to create an atmosphere of European winter in Saigon.
People can also come visit some religious areas which have brilliant decorations for Christmas, such as Tu Duc and Tam Ha areas in Thu Duc District, Tan Phu Church in the district of the same name, an area crowded with Christian families in District 8, and Nghia Phat area in Tan Binh District.
Popular stores like Parkson, Diamond, Vincom, Union Square and Bitexco, and the main streets of Dong Khoi, Nguyen Hue, and Hai Ba Trung in the city downtown have put on their brightly lit decorations.
The Notre Dame Cathedral in District 1 and the Starlight Bridge in District 7 are also favorite venues of revelers.
New Year
There are two places for fireworks displays: Saigon River Tunnel in District 2 and Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11 from 12 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. on January 1.
A countdown party to New Year 2016 will be held at Nguyen Hue pedestrian square from 9 p.m. on December 31, featuring performances by well-known local and foreign singers and exciting games.
Escape New Year’s Eve 2016 party will take place from 3 p.m. on December 31 at Phu My Hung town in District 7 with the presence of DJ duo Tenishia and trance singer Susana and an eye-catching fireworks display. Tickets are priced from VND149,000 to VND880,000 per person.
Countdown Party 2016 – Journey to Wonderland, which will feature eight singers and four DJs, will take place from 4 p.m. to midnight on December 31 at The Crescent in District 7. Apart from a VIP area for guests who purchase Unilever products, people can enter freely.
Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11 offers tickets priced from VND90,000 to VND250,000 per person for a countdown festival from 10 p.m. on December 31. The park will also host a series of entertainment and culinary programs from December 24 to January 1.
