According to industry and trade authority, commerce - service sector of the province plays an increasingly important role in economic development, attracts the participation of many economic sectors with many types of distribution, such as shopping centers, supermarkets, e-commerce, convenience stores... According to statistics, total retail sales of consumer goods and services increases on average 17.95% / year, of which the total commodity retail sales increases by 15.81% / year on average. The system of trade and service infrastructure was continuously upgraded; is developing with many types of distribution with the participation of big domestic and foreign brands.

Ho Van Binh, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said that in commerce sector, the quality of goods and products supplied to the people continued to be improved with the increase and development of convenience stores and high-end shopping malls. Currently, Binh Duong has 106 conventional markets, 3 shopping centers, 11 supermarkets, a system of mini-supermarkets, convenience stores etc. contributing to the formation of a modern and advanced business environment. Investment and trade promotion activities were implemented synchronously by the industry and trade authority. In particular, contents of Free Trade Agreements signed by Vietnam were quickly conveyed to enterprises, contributing to practical support for production and business activities of enterprises. Department of Industry and Trade has been deploying e-commerce platforms, business support programs in applying e-commerce, encouraged small and medium-sized enterprises in the province to install smart sales software...

According to the plan, in the 2021-2025 period, along with the attraction of high technology and advanced production, Binh Duong also focuses on economic restructuring towards stimulating high-quality trade and services. In particular, priority is given to services with high grey content, e-commerce, financial investment, banking, and innovative technology. Binh Duong also expects to increase the proportion of services to create a driving force for industrial development.

Currently, the industry and trade sector develops a network of markets and supermarkets at districts, towns and cities the project in order to develop commerce; speeds up the investment in markets, especially markets in remote areas, creating a thrust for economic growth in localities.

According to the assessment of business community, the promotion of investment attraction in high-end trade and service sector not only creates a new face for the province, but also is an important highlight motivating the Southern key economic region to develop by linking industry - urban - service together, attracting investors and high-quality human resources.

The good news is that at present Binh Duong has large shopping centers, hospitals, and residential areas under construction. I think if a school for Japanese children is built here, in the future there will be many Japanese families coming to live in Binh Duong.

Mai Hung Dung, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, said in the next stage, the province would continue to call for investors in commerce and services; develop more types of services - entertainment such as supermarkets, convenience stores, sports areas ... The province has been actively solving difficulties and problems so that large investment projects in trade and services can be implemented on schedule; enhances trade promotion activities, market management, combats smuggling, trade frauds, and counterfeit goods in order to effectively make commerce - services be a key local economic sector, creating a good foundation for attracting investment in the new phase.

According to Dr. Tran Du Lich, Binh Duong needs to enhance investment in infrastructure, attract high-quality trade - services to become a civilized and modern city, a high-quality service area for the whole region. In order to realize the above goal, Binh Duong needs to focus on the overall urban planning towards modernity and convenience with a Metro line connecting with Ho Chi Minh City; at the same time, strongly attracts investment in trade and information technology. Besides, Binh Duong also needs to improve the quality of human resources, add more high-end service programs, improve supply chains, logistics, infrastructure, and diversify transportation. In particular, Binh Duong prioritizes resources to accelerate the connection of avenues, arterial roads, seaports, international airports... thereby connecting the Southeast region in particular and the Southern key economic region in general.
