At the online conference between the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the provinces in the Southeast region on April 23, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong affirmed that the Southeast region is playing a special and important strategic role in all aspects of the country to converge most of the conditions and outstanding advantages for developing industry, services, leading industrialization and modernization.
However, the growth of the region is showing signs of slowing down, posing challenges to the development of the economic locomotive. It's inadequate connectivity infrastructure, limited contribution of science and technology to innovation, unmet manpower demands, environmental pollution, and housing shortages.
Recently, the Politburo and the Government have issued resolutions and action programs to transform the Southeast region into a dynamic development area with high economic growth rates, the largest growth momentum in the country. To have a basis for overcoming existing issues, promoting potential, advantages, and effectively implementing the objectives and tasks set by the Central Government, adjusting and supplementing specific solutions and policies for the region is necessary and practically meaningful.
The conference has proposed 5 mechanisms, policies specific to the Southeast region, including infrastructure investment in connectivity and resource mobilization; science-technology, innovation; industrial zones; high-quality human resource development and policies on decentralization of construction planning, urban planning, and social housing development. These policies are very necessary for the socio-economic development of provinces, cities, and regions, contributing to eliminating existing obstacles, promoting the effectiveness of provincial and regional planning, and successfully implementing the tasks assigned by the Central Government to the regions.
In alignment with the growth target of the Southeast region for the period 2021-2030, in the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050, Binh Duong province plans for sustainable development, efficient resource utilization, resource conservation, linked with ecological environment protection, and adaptation to climate change. At the same time, Binh Duong will innovate the growth model linked with restructuring the economy towards modernization, with a focus on digital economy, sharing economy, green economy, and circular economy as the core and driving force of development. Along with that, Binh Duong prioritizes the development of high-tech industries, high-quality services, maximizes internal resources, harmoniously combines with external forces to develop rapidly, sustainably, autonomously, and deeply integrate into the international community.
