Their plans include building a comprehensive infrastructure system to spur socio-economic development, mobilizing investment resources, and accelerating the progress of key projects in the region. These efforts aim to generate the necessary resources for Tan Uyen City to thrive in the upcoming period.
Lego Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. started construction of its factory in November 2022 at Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park 3 in Hoi Nghia Ward, Tan Uyen City, with an investment capital of more than 1.38 billion USD. After two years, the factory has completed 90% of construction and installation of machinery and equipment. Recently, the company held a ceremony to test run the production plant (phase 1 and phase 1A, capacity of 30,000 tons of products/year). Company leaders stated that testing and calibrating plastic injection machines and packaging lines at the factory represents a significant milestone, indicating that the project is on track. This is thanks to the support of central and local ministries, departments and agencies, and the companionship of partners.
The company is stepping up recruitment to meet the demand for product production to serve orders. In August 2024, an intensive training program combining domestic and foreign training was implemented at Lego Group (Denmark) factories worldwide. Currently, in Tan Uyen City, there are 3 industrial parks, 3 industrial clusters with more than 2,500 domestic enterprises, total registered capital of more than 36,000 billion VND; nearly 660 foreign investment projects, total registered capital of more than 5.34 billion USD. The city currently hosts two VSIP projects: VSIP 2, the largest in Binh Duong and the country, covering 2,045 hectares, and VSIP 3, which spans over 1,000 hectares.
Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, said that in the coming time, The city will continue to mobilize all available resources to invest in developing a comprehensive and modern infrastructure system that aligns with industrial, service, and urban development. Additionally, there will be an emphasis on enhancing investment in existing industrial parks. The city plans to work closely with the Binh Duong Industrial Parks Management Board to promote investment and attract secondary investors to these parks, thereby leveraging the local potential and advantages in industry, ports, and logistics. Priority will be given to attracting investments in high-tech processing and manufacturing projects, clean industries, and smart industries, particularly focusing on VSIP 3 and the expanded Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Park.

In the first ten months of 2024, Tan Uyen City focused on socio-economic development despite facing numerous fluctuations, challenges, and difficulties in the global economy. Nevertheless, due to the flexible adaptation and determined efforts of the entire political system, the business community, and the residents, the city's socio-economic landscape has continued to show stable growth and development. The City People's Committee has directed the comprehensive implementation of various solutions, resulting in achieving and exceeding the planned targets for 2024. Specifically, out of the set targets, six were exceeded and eighteen were achieved.

Namely, the city's industrial and construction production value is estimated at VND 42,570 billion, up 13.19% over the same period in 2023, reaching 100% of the target set by the City People's Council resolution; the value of trade and services is estimated at VND 32,742 billion, up 23.36% over the same period in 2023; domestic investment attraction by 430 newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of more than VND 3,033 billion (an increase of 217 enterprises over the same period in 2023); foreign investment attraction of nearly 48.7 million USD. The total state budget revenue of the city is estimated at 5,539 billion VND, reaching 114% of the adjusted estimate assigned by the province and 100% of the target of the City People's Council resolution in 2024.
Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi stated that in 2024, the city aims to leverage new advantages and potentials to promote the development of trade and services. In 2025, Tan Uyen City aims to attract selective investment projects that align with the local urban development strategy and comply with the regulations of the Provincial People's Committee. The city will speed up the site clearance for transportation infrastructure projects, such as the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4, expansion of DT742 and DT747A roads, etc.; exploit public land funds to build social and technical infrastructure works; ensure social security, improve people's living standards; and invest in service and public works to ensure the criteria of a class-two urban area.
Tan Uyen City is focused on finalizing the adjustment of its master plan to 2040, aligning it with the Binh Duong province master plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision extending to 2050. The city aims to achieve the criteria for a class-two urban area by 2025. According to the review results, Tan Uyen City currently scores 84.57 out of 100 points, which indicates that it is close to meeting the standards required for a class-two urban area.
