Many businesses and universities are collaborating on training and developing high-quality human resources to meet the demands of growth in the new phase. Particularly in Binh Duong, the workforce must not only meet the requirements of digital transformation and Industry 4.0 but also possess modern skills such as creative thinking and foreign language proficiency for international integration.
Effective connection
These days, at the recruitment office located at the Eastern International University (EIU), Lego LLC is urgently implementing an internal training program. Jesper Hassellund Mikkelsen, Senior Vice President of Production for Asia at Lego Group (Denmark) and General Director of Lego Manufacturing Vietnam, stated, "Since August 2023, the company has opened a recruitment office at EIU. In June 2024, we established a training center at EIU. By the third quarter of 2024, the company had launched an internal training program for hundreds of employees. The company prioritizes recruiting candidates who meet the job requirements and are competent for the positions. Some positions require English, while others require high technical expertise. The company is committed to creating an inclusive, diverse environment and offering numerous opportunities for career and personal development."

Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, Rector of EIU, expressed pride that among the important positions Lego recruits and trains, many are EIU alumni. This is proof of the correct direction of the leadership of Becamex IDC Corporation (EIU's governing body) and EIU's dedication in training, meeting the high-quality human resource needs of the province on its development journey. "In the process of working with the leadership of Lego Vietnam, or in the internal training program, we are delighted to meet former students of the university. They have passed Lego's rigorous recruitment process to become global workers, meeting the human resource criteria set by Lego. This also opens a new development direction for EIU in linking and developing with businesses," shared Dr. Ngo Minh Duc.
Dr. Le Ngoc Huan, Director of the Industrial 4.0 Innovation Center (IIC) at EIU, emphasized that EIU has signed cooperation agreements with many businesses to support and promote innovation through activities such as internships, business case studies, projects, job training, real-world faculty experiences, visiting lecturers, scholarships, sponsorships, and other activities. To train human resources that meet the new growth model, the university has changed its teaching methods, which have been quality-assured. Beyond textbook knowledge, students need to be equipped with skills such as technology application, critical thinking, and creativity through practical activities at businesses.
High expectations
In the context of globalization and the remarkable development of technology, the cooperative relationship between businesses and educational institutions is becoming more valuable than ever. Through cooperation, a solid foundation is created for a future developed based on the depth and essence of innovation and an unceasing creative spirit.
According to Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, EIU will continue to focus on building an ecosystem at the university, including the Industrial 4.0 Innovation Center; Advanced Manufacturing Center; Center for Sustainable Solutions; TechLab and Fablab systems..., on one hand, creating an environment for students to learn and conduct scientific research, and on the other hand, this ecosystem will be the basis for the university to collaborate with businesses in effectively accessing digital transformation solutions. With an English proficiency exit standard of IELTS 6.0, this is considered one of the highest standards among universities in Vietnam today, preparing students to participate in the global labor market.
Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Permanent Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the province, stated that Binh Duong is actively supporting businesses to cooperate with universities to facilitate students' learning and internships in real environments; simultaneously promoting vocational education, especially in high-tech fields such as digital technology, information technology, and smart manufacturing, thereby providing a highly skilled workforce, meeting the stringent requirements of the labor market. The cooperative model between schools, businesses, and the government in Binh Duong is proving effective. This cooperation and connection not only help improve the quality of training but also ensure that students can immediately meet the needs of the labor market, creating a workforce that is creative, dynamic, and ready for international integration, contributing to the goal of realizing Binh Duong's vision of becoming a smart, sustainably developed city in the future.
