As part of the series of activities for the event announcing provincial planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the Electric Energy Exhibition 2024 and the Vietnam Automation Exhibition 2024 kicked off yesterday morning, September 25 at the World Trade Center Binh Duong New City EXPO (WTC EXPO) in Thu Dau Mot city. Binh Duong with potential, advantages

Jung Ga Yeon, Deputy Consul General of South Korea in Ho Chi Minh city stated that in response to climate change and global warming, both South Korea and Vietnam have committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The two countries have agreed to enhance cooperation in various fields, specifically in policy exchange and technology for green growth as well as promoting investment from the private sector.

The Vietnamese government is implementing socio-economic development plans in a stable manner, aiming at becoming a high-income country by 2045. Accordingly, Vietnam is preparing for digital transformation in the manufacturing sector, driven by information and communication technology while also pursuing a transition to green energy and low-carbon energy sources in the energy sector. South Korea is also on a similar way. Digitization in the manufacturing industry and the implementation of carbon neutrality goals are also being carried out in South Korea. In this context, the above mentioned two exhibitions open new opportunities for both South Korean and Vietnamese companies.

“In the current context, the Electric Energy Exhibition 2024 and the Vietnam Automation Exhibition 2024 are timely events with great significance. Automating production and improving energy efficiency through renewable energy technologies will greatly contribute to reducing carbon emissions in industries”, affirmed Ms. Jung Ga Yeon.

Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee stated that Binh Duong is a province with great potential and has all the necessary factors to develop its industrial and service sectors, serving as a growth driver for the Southeastern region. To maintain its development momentum, Binh Duong has been promoting automation in manufacturing industries, transitioning from traditional industrial models to green and smart industries, creating favorable conditions for businesses to access and connect for trade cooperation. This is not only an inevitable trend, but also an important lever to help businesses in Binh Duong and across the country, enhancing their competitiveness and achieve sustainable development.

Cooperation expanded

Ja-Kyun Koo, President of the Korea Electrical Manufacturers Association (KOEMA) stated that the association will actively support Vietnamese and South Korean businesses in expanding cooperation in the fields of electricity and automation throughout the duration of the two exhibitions in Binh Duong. “Through this exhibition, with the participation of over 100 large and small enterprises, including the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), public power generation companies and businesses representing South Korea's electricity and energy industry, we will showcase the latest achievements in the energy and electricity industry of South Korea. At the same time, through exchanges with local businesses in Vietnam, we will further enhance cooperation in technology and trade”, said Mr. Ja-Kyun Koo.

Delegates visit the exhibition booths

Lee Dong Ki, General Director of Coex stated that the smart factory and automation market in Vietnam is experiencing the average annual growth rate of over 13%, aligning with the Government's digital transformation policy and strategy for modernizing manufacturing industry. Especially, Binh Duong province, with many large industrial parks, is one of the key economic areas in the southern region of Vietnam and the demand for factory automation and smart factory technology is rapidly increasing. He expressed confidence that this exhibition will become an important milestone in the development of the manufacturing industry in Vietnam.

According to EVN leaders, EVN and South Korea have collaborated in various fields to develop the electricity sector in a greener and more sustainable direction. Particularly, EVN always considers the KEPCO as an important partner while speaking highly of the projects that KEPCO has been involved in Vietnam as well as the support provided to EVN over the past years.

The KOEMA also affirmed that KEPCO has a stable infrastructure system with good reliability indicators for electricity supply. KEPCO has continuously developed technology and invested in new projects to enhance its electricity supply capacity. With its existing experience, KEPCO hopes to continue its cooperative relationship with EVN and support EVN in the process of development, stabilizing electricity supply and using energy efficiently. KEPCO also wishes to exchange and share experience regarding coal and LNG imports, virtual power plants, digital transformation…, with EVN.

According to the Organization Board, the purpose of the two exhibitions was to showcase the most advanced solutions and technologies in the fields of electricity, energy and automation. They attracted 300 units, organizations, with over 400 booths from more than 1,000 businesses from South Korea, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, China, Taiwan (China), Hong Kong (China), and Vietnam. The exhibition space was not only a venue for demonstrating automation technology solutions, but also an opportunity for businesses to update new trends in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and smart automation.
