Every Vietnamese person in Bulgaria serves as a bridge to promote Vietnam, its people and culture and strengthen ties between the two countries. At a September 1 meeting with Vietnamese embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese (OV) in Bulgaria, Nhan briefed them on the current socio-economic situation in Vietnam, as well as social affairs, education, training, national defence and security. The Deputy PM spoke highly of the embassy’s efforts to assist and protect OVs and foster multifaceted cooperative ties with Bulgaria and urged them to support localities and businesses in the two countries to establish ties and effective cooperation to raise the value of two-way trade. Speaking with representatives of nearly 1,000 OVs in Bulgaria, Nhan encouraged them to continue educating their children about Vietnamese traditions and culture to help them understand their origins. On behalf of the embassy and the OV community, Ambassador Le Duc Luu affirmed that Vietnamese nationals are always looking towards their homeland and contributing to developing traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Bulgaria. Some of the representatives asked Deputy PM Nhan and leaders of Vietnamese agencies to support training of Vietnamese language for OVs in Sofia. VOV
