To celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, localities in the province have organized and will organize numerous sports activities, attracting a large number of participants.
Among the events is the 2024 Traditional Boat Racing Championship of Thu Dau Mot city, which will take place on September 2. This year's tournament will feature 9 teams, including 3 teams from the host Thu Dau Mot city. Additionally, strong teams from other localities such as Thuan An city, Tan Uyen city and Dau Tieng district will also participate in the tournament. These are localities with strong boat racing movements, promising an exciting event for spectators. The competition will be held in two main distances: 500 meters and 1,000 meters.
Also on September 2, Thu Dau Mot city will host the 2024 open marathon event called "Cung duong nhung hang dau" (The road of dipterocarpus alatus trees). The race will cover distances of 10km, 5km, and 3km. Participants will race through beautiful roads in Phu Cuong, Phu Tho and Chanh Nghia wards. According to the organizers, registration for this race is now closed, with over 2,000 runners in and out of the province set to compete.
Earlier, in late August, Phu Giao district also organized several sports activities to celebrate National Day.
