Over the past years, Thu Dau Mot University's operation of scientific research and technology development reaches some results, contributing positively to develop human resources and improve specialized knowledge of cadres, lecturers and students. Thu Dau Mot University's students find out documents at the university library.The school year of 2013-2014 is the second year Thu Dau Mot University launches the contest on "students indulge in scientific research" and considers to grant "Thu Dau Mot University young scientific talents" awards. Attending the contest were 140 projects with 453 students of 12 faculties. After considering outlines, as many as 120 projects with the total support cost of VND298mil were handed over students for implementation. Until now, 78 out of 120 projects were accepted at faculty level and faculties selected 22 projects to join in the 2nd "Thu Dau Mot University young scientific talents" awards 2014 in 4 fields such as technology technique, social and humanity science, education science, economic and natural science. After 2 years of implementing the work on scientific research among students, students' awareness on scientific research gains positive changes. This shows a rapid increase on the participating projects. As a result, 3 projects won the first prize, 3 second prizes and 9 third ones. Of these, 2 excellent projects were chosen to send to the Ministry of Education and Training for the "young scientists award" 2014. According to Ph.D Tran Van Trung, head of Thu Dau Mot University's Science Department said "Aside from learning, scientific research is considered as one of tasks and responsibilities of students. The scientific research helps students not only approach specialized fields but create working style scientifically. Many projects are highly appreciated and express their application into life". Over years, Thu Dau Mot University's scientific research operation has created an academic forum, helping students debate and exchange with scientists and managers. The operation also contributes to inspire students' indulgence on scientific research and to help them affirm themselves. In order to spur the operation in the coming time, every student should actively map out learning plans and scientific researches. On June 14, the provincial department of Education and Training announced results of the 2013-2014 academic year's final high school exam. As a result, 99.86% of local pupils passed the final exam, of which 26 out of 32 high schools reached the passing rate of 100%. Nguyen Thi Thoai Anh, the 12th grader of Trinh Hoai Duc high school in Thuan An town ranked first in the final exam with 38.5 points.
