July 9, more than 6,000 candidates of Thu Dau Mot University and Binh Duong University’s university entrance exams started this year entrance exams’ second phase. In the first exam day of the second day, exam supervision was strengthened closely.

Confidently working at an enterprise, Truing Hoang Viet Trinh – the third-year student of business administration major said that open learning environment encourages students’ motivation and independence and simultaneously creates teamwork ability for students. “Initially, you can feel difficult to solve a new problem, so practice in universities will be an important preparation for future career”, Viet Trinh affirmed. Meanwhile, talking about their capacity, Nguyen Tien Phat – the third year student of business administration major said that Office of Community Connect (OCC) at EIU is the place firmly creating the first future steps for students. Aside from improving confidence and living skill for students, OCC makes up a close linkage and methodical probation program with companies, corporations inside and outside of the country. “In the probation trip at Nike Vietnam Company, I really encounter projects and work progresses and feel that I can understand and integrate into working culture of the US corporation”, Tien Phat added. EIU focuses on training trades according to the society’s urgent demand. Regarding the third-year students’ option of working at large companies, EIU vice rector Nguyen Tan Loi said that EIU’s students often learn on high pressure on time and quality of lessons. In addition, they have to participate in many hands-on trips at enterprises and enjoy meetings with successful leaders to learn about their working ways and recruitment demand, creating connection between students and enterprises as well as motivation and right orientation for students. In addition to the mentioned above elements, skill and psychology of candidates in interviews are instructed thoroughly by OCC. However, according to EIU vice rector Nguyen Tan Loi, real working capacity is the most important factor for enterprises. On July 3, more than 5,000 examinees sitting for the university entrance exams held at Binh Duong gathered at exam locations to hear about exam regulations and procedures. Reportedly, 5,163 candidates arrived at exam locations to complete exam procedures. Thu Dau Mot University alone completed exam procedures for 4,852 candidates, winning 85.95%.

The first phase of the 2014 university entrance exams will take place on July 4 and 5. In this year, Binh Duong has 2 universities of Thu Dau Mot University and Binh Duong University holding the entrance exams in accordance to the 3-common measure set out by the Ministry of Education and Training. With about 13,000 exam registration files, these universities' entrance exams will be held at their locations and high schools in Binh Duong. Students guide examinees to exam locations. Readiness This year is the fifth year Thu Dau Mot University holds the university entrance exams according to the 3-common measure of the Ministry of Education and Training. Thu Dau Mot University will hold 2 phases of the entrance exams for 22 majors. The University will also organize aptitude exams for M group (pre-school educational major) right after ending the 2nd phase. Meanwhile, the university's college level will base on results of university exams 2014. With about 12,137 registering contestants, the university's exams will be held at 7 locations including Thu Dau Mot University, Hung Vuong Gifted high school, Vo Minh Duc high school, Nguyen Dinh Chieu high school, Trinh Hoai Duc high school, Tran Van On high school and provincial Continuing Education Center. According to Dang Thanh Sang, vice director of the provincial department of Education and Training, the total registered files declines in this year but Thu Dau Mot University gains a significant increase in the registered files of 20% compared to the previous year. Ph.D Ngo Hong Diep, head of Thu Dau Mot University's Training Department cum secretary of the exam council said "Until now, all preparations for Thu Dau Mot University's 2014 university entrance exams are relatively completed. The University mobilizes more than 3,000 cadres, students to cater for the exams. In this year, Thu Dau Mot University continues to receive admission files for university and college levels". Meanwhile, this the second year Binh Duong University organizes the university entrance exams. Despite the modest quantity of registering examinees, the university's exam organization is implemented closely. Until now, the university management board announces exam regulations to cadres, lecturers who will serve for the exams. Exam season assistance This year, Thu Dau Mot University attracts contestants from 46 provinces and cities nationwide. Therefore, in the past days many examinees from other localities arrived in the province to prepare for the exams. These examinees feel secure in mind when enjoying assistance from volunteer students who introduce cheap price lodging rooms and ways to exam locations to examinees. Tran Duc Hoan, vice secretary of the university's youth union said that the university volunteer students are presented at exam locations, coach terminals and junctions to help contestants. Earlier, the volunteer students paid surveys to cheap price lodging houses and eateries to introduce to examinees. Up to now, they have had addresses of hundreds of cheap price lodging rooms and eateries. In addition, the university's youth union mobilizes donors to grant 200 free rice portions and VND15mil to buy breads for examinees. On July 1, Binh Duong University's volunteer students joined in the 2014 exam season assistance campaign. Huynh Ngoc Phu, secretary of the university youth union said that the university holds 2 exam season assistance locations at Binh Duong University and provincial coach terminal.
