As an export industry that has reaped many successes in a tumultuous year of 2021 due to the epidemic, woodwork enterprises enter the new year with the mindset of maintaining their achievements and raising the bar for sustainable development. Mr. Nguyen Liem, Chairman of Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA), said that after the Lunar New Year, enterprises in the province are gradually adapting to the new situation and have made adjustments to production plans of doing business to open more markets for domestic consumption and export. The picture of wood industry production has gained more brighter highlight when the number of quickly recovering enterprises increased, and the export index was quite high in January 2022. In difficulties, there are still businesses that find new ways to maintain production, business and consumption of goods at home and abroad. “The big motivation for us in the early days of the New Year of the Tiger 2022 is the figure of USD 15.6 billion in export turnover for the whole year of 2021. Mr. Furusawa Yasuyuki, General Director of Aeon Vietnam, said that in 2022, businesses have achieved good growth in Binh Duong market and will continue to expand investments in the province in 2022. “We continue to exploit the potentials of Binh Duong market to develop and affirm the position of Aeon retail group in localities of the province. All efforts to develop together with Binh Duong, the trade and service industry are worthy of a locality with a strong industry. It is expected that Aeon will join Binh Duong in entering the year of the Tiger in 2022 as strong as the image of a tiger in Vietnamese culture."

According to Mr. Luu Tri, Director of Nghe Nang Company in Thuan An city, although the economic recovery process in 2022 may face many challenges as many bottlenecks need to be resolved, the direction and close management of the government and the dynamism of the locality would convincingly help Binh Duong enterprises seize the opportunities to recover and continue to maintain and strengthen their position.

“During the time, the activities of reforming administrative procedures, providing public services through information technology, and directing and administering sessions online of Binh Duong leaders are really impressive, especially the rapidly changing towards modernity. We have been working on digital transformation in production to adapt to the new situation. The business community wants the policies to continue to be implemented more quickly and decisively, to remove difficulties and obstacles. Support packages quickly come to life so that the business community can be revived once more after the pandemic," Mr. Luu Tri expressed his confidence.

Mr. Nguyen Liem added that in 2022, Binh Duong woodwork enterprises are ready for digital transformation to target the 5 largest markets of Vietnam, namely the US, Japan, China, Korea and the European Union. These are dynamic markets that are strongly affected by the epidemic, which changes consumer behavior. Such change has created pressure and challenges, forcing businesses to innovate and improve at all stages, from design andproduction to commerce, in which digitization is a key factor. In the industry, many enterprises have gained annual sales of up to billions of US dollars in a hope to catch up with the trend of digital transformation and to improve capacity for higher added values.
