Thanks to emulation movements in production promoted, provincial Farmers Association and its affiliates have greatly contributed to reshaping the local rural image.

Propaganda work diversified

Provincial Farmers Association and its affiliates have sped up propaganda work by many forms among farmers so that they could understand and well grasp the Party and State’s policies and laws. In the first nine months of 2013, they admitted additional 2,185 members, bringing their total members so far to 60,530.

Over the past five years, provincial Farmers Association also organized 20 training courses for 1,703 cadres; teamed up with relevant agencies to open 47 training courses on collective economy, environment, integration into WTO…All helped raise responsibility of the association’s cadres, contributing to step by step standardizing their qualification as planned.

Emulation movements

Provincial Farmers Association and its affiliates have taken initiative in cooperating with the local branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to provide loans for farmers to develop agricultural production.

In the first nine months of 2013, provincial Farmers Association considered and disbursed nearly VND6bln in loan from 23 projects of provincial Support Fund for Farmers for more than 280 households; sold nurslings, agricultural materials, animal feed…on credit with total value of more than VND1.6bln…for more than 820 members to develop homebased business…The local branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies also disbursed more than VND20bln in loan for more than 1,800 households.

Provincial Farmers Association has also worked with relevant agencies, companies…to open 654 training courses and 35 seminars on transfer of sci-tech advancements in animal husbandry and cultivation for more than 31,000 farmers. In addition, the association and its affiliates have  helped members visit effective production models in and out of the country, including those of growing safe vegetables, breeding ornamental fish, growing orchids…to learn experience from them for better results. Agricultural Promotion Stations at all levels organized 3 pilot models on growing orchids, 4 tentative spots on breeding gourami fish, growing safe vegetables;  4 tentative spots on raising breeding pigs with total expense of nearly VND160mln…

Such these apart, provincial Farmers’ Association and its affiliates have promoted the emulation movement of “farmers getting involved in new rural construction”. They over the past five years contributed VND63bln, 1,500sq.m of land and nearly 60,000 working days to upgrading rural roads, making field-in canals, building bridges, upgrading schools and power works…

From now till 2018, provincial Farmers’ Association has set a target of building up a strong provincial farmer class in all aspects. The association will further become a key organization for farmers’ emulation movements,  especially the new rural construction program and take the lead in socio-economic development of the province’s rural region.
