Delegates from Vietnam and France attended a seminar in Hue on April 27 to learn about the latest health information and technology.

The event was co-organised by the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Hue Central Hospital, in collaboration with the Association for Medical Development in Vietnam (ADM-VN).

Participants discussed new approaches to treating diabetes and heart and digestive diseases in hospitals in Hue.

ADM-VN president, Dr Tran Manh Cuong, said the seminar offered an opportunity for Vietnamese alumni in France and Francophone countries to share experiences and knowledge in the medical sector.

Over the past 20 years, AMD-VN has supported schools and hospitals in Thua Thien-Hue in training human resources and transferring health and surgical science and technology.

It has also been involved in charitable activities and has presented 120 wheelchairs to medical students and 60 bicycles to poor children, in addition to restoring eye sight to 180 blind children and building the Francophone library in Hue.

During the seminar, Hue Central Hospital presented the “For the People’s Health” insignia to Professor Trinh Dinh Huy and Doctor Tran Manh Cuong for their contributions to developing Vietnam’s health sector.
