Today, The Eastern International University (EIU) holds its opening ceremony of the 2013-2014 school year and marks its 3rd founding anniversary. Looking back its operation period, EIU has reached high efficiency, creating trust and deserving an international standard university with the motto of “Manpower training on practical demand”.   Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (right) pays a visit and grants a picture to EIU in April 2013.

Impressive figures

EIU was founded on Sept. 27, 2010 and opened the first school year in 2011. With vision and aspiration of dedicating to the country as well as creating opportunities of on-site study abroad to local students, EIU invested by Becamex IDC is built into one of the best beautiful and modern universities in Vietnam. With the training form on models of advanced universities in the world, after 2 years of training on the national standards to serve for demand on high quality manpower in Binh Duong in particular and Vietnam in general, EIU has so far reached remarkable results.

According to Ph.D Nguyen Van Phuc, headmaster of EIU, established in the period of globalization and international integration, EIU targets to train students with excellent qualification and fluent English communication in service for the local process of industrialization and modernization. Until now, after nearly 3 years of admission, EIU has had 2,473 students, 3 of whom are Korean students.

EIU headmaster Nguyen Van Phuc added that since its inception, EIU has both trained high quality manpower for society and contributed to implement work on manpower training for the provincial socio-economic management. Aside from nearly 2,500 students, EIU has over the past years trained 3,398 learners for local agencies and businesses. Accordingly, EIU in cooperation with the provincial department of Education and Training has opened advanced English courses for 612 teachers of primary and secondary schools across the province, has coordinated with the provincial Politics School to train English for 89 key cadres and held English courses and management skill classes for VSIP Joint Venture Company and local businesses, has worked with Mitsubishi Setuyo Company - Japan’s leading teaching aids supplier - to train and grant Mitsubishi-EIU certificates to 8 engineers of P&G Company and many other co-operations.

Quality affirmed

Students’ capacity is a top crucial issue and reflects quality of training. EIU students’ capacity is proved on probation. Specifically, EIU sent as many as 127 students of nursing faculty to My Phuoc Hospital for their probation on the Southeastern Asia standards on nursing practice capacity in a bid to ensure nursing bachelors’ quality of training.

In terms of technical major, 45 students of the first course experienced probation at AIF East Company and 70 other students completed their probation at Global Cyber Soft Company. As for business administration major, EIU sent numerous students to companies such as Mirae SJC, aothun.vn Company, Kirin Beverage Company and so on for practice. As a result, EIU students’ capacity has been highly valued by companies.

Notably, during the period of probation and practice, EIU sent 32 excellent students to Singapore for probation. For instance, EIU students experienced probations at II-VI Company, the world’s leading company in high technology, Sembcorp Group, the partner of  Becamex IDC in building VSIPs at Vietnam, ETLA Limited, the maker of accurate equipments and components, Viz Branz Limited, the beverage producer and distributor in Asia, Modern Montessori International Group, SIM Institute and many more. Through working style, EIU students were highly valued by Singaporean businesses, especially Modern Montessori International Group intended to recruit EIU students after their graduation.

Apart from launching the work on “training in attachment to business and practice”, EIU has paid much attention to teaching English for all students to help them get IELTS 6.0 mark after graduation.

Regarding academic results of students, Nguyen Van Phuc said that meeting constantly with foreign teachers, EIU students have reached gigantic advances rapidly. This result is thanks to EIU’s vision on building new skills, helping students self-affirm themselves. EIU headmaster believes and hopes EIU students to be young leaders, managers, engineers and nursing experts with high qualification and dedication to the country.
