The northern province of Quang Ninh is poised to launch a double-decker bus sightseeing tour in Ha Long city on June 18.
The double-decker city tour buses have been in service in Hanoi for a year and have proved successful.
The Hanoi Department of Transport have collaborated with the Vietnam Tourism Hanoi JSC to continue deploying the open top double-decker buses in Ha Long city.
The Ha Long City Tour has nine stopovers with Sun World Ha Long Park being the first stop on the route.
The tour will pass through a number of different tourist attractions in the city such as Ha Long market, Ben Ca wharf, Quang Ninh Museum and Library, Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace, Ha Long Flower Park, Tuan Chau Park. the Royal Lotus Hotel, before finally stopping at Vinpearl Ha Long Resort.
The “Hop on-Hop off” format of the buses are expected to allow visitors to explore and experience a new form of tourism whilst paying a visit to Ha Long city.
The Ha Long City Tour will run along coastal roads and will give tourists the perfect chance of savouring scenic views of Ha Long bay.
The route will see two double-decker buses with 63 seats each put into operation with the top deck of each bus containing 45 seats.
Ticket prices have been set at VND179,000 for a two-hour tour, VND219,000 for five hours, VND249,000 for ten hours, and VND299,000 for 24 hours.
On the opening day on June 18, the Ha Long city tour will be deployed on a pilot basis with tickets free of charge for both local and foreign visitors.
Ha Long is the second city after Hanoi to use the open top double-deckers to serve tourists visiting the city.
