The contract to this effect was signed in Hanoi on December 16.
The Ngo May elementary school in Duc Co district was built 20 years ago and is now badly deteriorated. The district’s Department of Education and Training will receive US$110,000 to construct a new two-storey building with eight classrooms.
In addition, the funding will also be used to build another new two-storey building with 7 classrooms for vocational training.
Tran Ngoc Chi, Chairwoman of the Gia Lai Provincial Women’s Union, said nearly 1,500 provincial women want to join training courses every year but the current centre’s equipment or classrooms fail to meet the demand. It cannot hold long-term training courses and the quality and quantity of training is still very limited.
Hideo Suzuki, Minister of the Japanese embassy in Vietnam, expressed his belief that the two projects will help boost socio-economic development in the province and promote friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.
