Japan’s naval defence ships visit Danang

Japanese coastal defence ships docked at Danang Port on October 19, beginning their friendship visit to the central city. Tien Sa Port hosted an official welcome ceremony in the presence of representatives from the Defence Ministry, the Vietnam People’s Naval Armed Service, the Naval High Command , and the municipal Border Guard High Command. Japanese attendees included Ambassador to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada, Colonel Manabu Ozawa, the Japanese military attaché, and representatives of the Japanese Business Association in Danang. During the ships’ three day stay in the city (October 19–21), their captains will pay courtesy visits to leaders of the municipal People’s Committee, Military Zone 5’s High Command, and Navy Zone 3’s High Command. Officers and crew will join in cultural and sports exchange activities and tour places of interest in Danang and its surrounds.
