Local tourism popularization promoted to attract tourists

Along with tourism popularization activities, provincial Tourism Promotion Center has also coordinated with relevant units to organize a number of other tourism activities to attract tourists in the first months of 2022. These activities are still being carried out with appropriate forms in order to promptly provide tourism information and attract more tourists.

Focusing on popularization

In the first months of the year, the situation of Covid-19 epidemic in the province has been still complicated. Implementing "flexibly, safe adaption and effective control of the Covid-19 pandemic" in the "new normal" state, provincial Tourism Promotion Center has also organized activities in line with the general situation of the locality as well as its tasks.

Nguyen Duc Minh, Director of provincial Tourism Promotion Center said that the unit's activities have mainly focused on the local tourism popularization. In order to provide tourism information and spring activities to locals and tourists, provincial Tourism Promotion Center participated in promoting the local tourism sector at the "Enjoying spring in Binh Duong" booth in the series of the 2022 Spring Flower Street events at Binh Duong New City Park. Along with that, the center issued “Enjoying spring 2022” printed matters and provided visitors with them; popularized the local traditional handicrafts such as lacquer wares, bamboo and rattan items, wooden clogs, piggy banks, ancient pottery products...to tourists.

In addition to exhibition activities, the center has designed a column on "Enjoying Binh Duong spring 2022" at website: dulichbinhduong.org.vn to compile, update and provide information about the local recreational activities, places to stay...for tourists. The center has effectively used its website at  www.dulichbinhduong.org.vn to provide visitors with information about Binh Duong tourism quickly and conveniently while tapping the strength of the website to connect and share information with tourism agencies nationwide. On the other hand, the center has also regularly supported and encouraged travel units in and out of the province to participate in promoting its image, expanding cooperation to form up new tours at tourists’ increasing needs.

Stimulating demand for development

To stimulate the local tourism activities, provincial Tourism Promotion Center has just cooperated with provincial Tourism Association to organize a program of "City tour: Thu Dau Mot - Experience and feel". This is considered as one of the center’s new pilot tourism programs to assess the needs and potential for the local tourism development. On that basis, the center will design and rebuild appropriate tours, attracting the participation of travel companies for development in the near future.

It is known that the pilot program attracted the participation of about 20 people with passion in cycling and left great results. Mr.Minh said: “Most visitors participating in this program highly appreciated the local tourism potential and sites while wanting that there will be such more tours with more interesting destinations. From the needs of tourists, after this program, we have surveyed destinations, designed another tours by bicycle and will call for travel companies to participate in exploitation for better development in the coming time, thereby contributing to attracting more tourists.

According to Mr. Minh, tourism activities in the province have gradually returned to normality. With its functions and tasks, provincial Tourism Promotion Center will further focus on tourism popularization by many forms, providing locals and tourists with timely and accurate information, contributing to promoting the local tourism sector. Currently, the center is changing its website interface with new features, including updating a 360-degree map of prominent tourist destinations, helping visitors be easier to access information. Besides, the center has designed the local tourist map panels and placed them in a number of tourist sites. Each tourist map panel has a QR code, so visitors can scan the code and easily access information, quickly finding tourist destinations at their needs to form up their own trips conveniently through information of the destinations that are predefined on the map.

To prepare for the reopening of tourism activities, the center is actively coordinating with units of provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to prepare for the organization of dialogues with the local travel companies by the end of March. In addition, the center is preparing to participate in popularizing the local tourism information at the “Don Ca Tai Tu” (southern folk music) festival in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, the Ho Chi Minh city Tourism Festival in early April…

To attract more tourists, travel units have launched their own programs to stimulate demand.
