Update: 30-06-2011 | 00:00:00

The first ever Ha Long Cup of Binh Duong Journalists Association (BJA) Open Tournament has attracted newspapers and mass media for the success of news making and professional racing.

From the beginning, the tournament was covered by major news reporting agencies for television to newspapers. All were dispatched to catch every bit of the event throughout the 4 stages of 600km.

Statistically, the race was at high speed at the lowest 32.625 km/h to the highest 54.8 km/h. This was thanks to sprints were frequently made by highly stamina athletes who were well-prepared for the tournament.

On other aspects, the tournament denotes that younger cyclists have been training hard to yearn for what they wished. The two freshmen have dominated the tournament and for the first time overturned veteran team from Mekong River – the Ben Tre Team. In the meantime, if there had been more than 2 athletes to to form a team, cyclists from Dong Nai could have done better.

Notwithstanding the non-professional issues of preparation and supports, the tournament was highly appreciated as an interesting sports event in 2011 to commemorate a day for journalists in Vietnam.
