Ly Hoang Nam wins on the first day of New Year

Ly Hoang Nam was not able to reunite with his family on Tet holidays 2019 because of Chennai Open Tennis Tournament in India. However, he had excellent performances and won two consecutive victories in both men's singles and doubles. Accordingly, the Vietnamese No. 1 player unexpectedly defeated Mousley Bradley (Australia, 339^th ATP) in the first round with a score of 2-1. This impressive victory helped Nam enter the second round of men's singles, meet No. 14 seed Grigelis (Lithuania, 287^th ATP).

Meanwhile, in the men's doubles, Nam teamed with Sumit Nagal against Ivan Nedelko / Zhurbin (Russia). The couple had won the Wimbledon men's doubles championship in 2015, and participated in this tournament with a special ticket. Another victory of Hoang Nam came when he and Sumit Nagal defeated their opponents with a score of 2-0. In the quarterfinals, Hoang Nam and Sumit Nagal will confront the No. 2 couple Yang Tsung Hua (Taiwan) / Tomislav (Croatia).
