Pupils across the province are very eager to prepare for the new academic year. On average, the number of pupils at all levels in the province grows by more than 20,000 every academic year. With such great increase, does the local sector of education and training ensure enough classes and schools at pupils’ demand for learning? Binh Duong Daily had an interview with Duong The Phuong, Director of provincial Department of Education and Training (DoET) to know more about this issue as well as preparatory work for the new academic year of 2014-2015.
It is known that the number of pupils across the province has increased by 27.900 in the new academic year of 2014 and 2015. Are there enough schools and classes at pupils’ demand for learning? Which measures will the sector step up to deal with considerable growth of the number of pupils in some localities?
As planned, the number of pupils across the province in the 2014-2015 academic year is 314,600, up 27,000 compared to the previous academic year. But now, the number of pupils in the academic year has grown by 27,900 and the figure will further go up. The increase has mainly come from the offspring of immigrant laborers in towns of Thuan An, Di An, Ben Cat and TDM city.
In the new academic year of 2014 and 2015, the whole province has 5-newly built schools to considerably meet the local pupils’ demand for learning. It is expected that on the opening occasion of the new academic year, 23 schools, including 21 public ones, with 604 classrooms will be put into operation. There are also 13 private schools under construction, comprising of 2 junior colleges and 2 universities.
With additional material facilities, the local sector of education and training can satisfy 19,000 pupils’ demand for learning. The sector has also found out solutions for the remaining pupils. In addition, the sector will continue promoting the development of private preschools to be able to receive additional 3,400 kids in the new academic year.
Possibly speaking, with the above efforts, the local sector of education and training will ensure enough schools and classes for all pupils in the new academic year.
How has the local sector of education and training prepared for the new academic year?
In summer, pupils have a chance to relax while the sector of education and training starts preparatory activities for the new academic year.
During the summer 2014, province-based schools have been upgraded for a clean and beautiful scenery. The local sector of education and training has also purchased equipment at learning and teaching’s demand. The total expense for the above activities is estimated at around VND65bln. Many other repairs have been implemented by province-based schools, helping them become more friendly in pupils’ eyes.
Thanks a lot!
