Source from the Coaching Board of the Vietnamese Karate team said that Binh Duong’s Nguyen Minh Phung grasped a gold medal in the men’s 75kg weight category event at the Indonesia Open Karate Tournament 2011, which closed on June 2.

This was one of the seven bronze and silver medals won by the Vietnamese karate team at the tournament. It is known that Minh Phung is the current champion of the 25th SEA Games in the men’s team event.

With bronze medals at the Indonesia Open Karate Tournament 2011 and the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, Minh Phung will have more opportunities to win medals at the 26th SEA Games, which will be held in Indonesia by the end of the year.
