Nhut Thanh Temple of Binh Duong to be recognize as provincial historical and cultural monument

On 5th June, People's Committee of Tan Uyen Town in collaboration with provincial Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, People's Committee of Thanh Hoi commune held a ceremony to receive rank certificate of province-level historical and cultural monument for Nhut Thanh Temple.

Tan Uyen Town leaders present flowers to congratulate Nhut Thanh Temple Management Board on the day of receiving rank certificate.

Nhut Thanh Temple (also known as Nhut Thanh ancient temple) is located in Nhut Thanh hamlet, Thanh Hoi commune, Tan Uyen Town. At first, Nhut Thanh communal house was quite simple, mainly made of thatch and bamboo. Later, the people here together contributed money and labor to build and repair this temple to be more and more solid and spacious. In 1852, King Tu Duc conferred a title on this temple. Although the exact year is unclear, based on the title, Nhut Thanh Temple was built before 1852. Up to now, the temple has undergone many renovations and repairs but still retains the architectural style of a Southern temple. 

Nhut Thanh Temple is a place not only for worship of Tutelary god, but also for cultural and religious activities of people in Thanh Hoi commune (also known as Rua Isle). The temple is also a place that witnessed historical events, a shelter that hid revolutionary cadres, had a close connection with local revolutionary movements during the national resistance wars. 

In December 2019, Nhut Thanh Temple was ranked as a province-level historical-cultural monument by Provincial People's Committee, is under the management of Provincial Museum, People's Committee of Tan Uyen Town, People's Committee of Thanh Hoi Commune. The recognition of Nhut Thanh Temple will contribute to the education on historical and cultural traditions for the young generation today and tomorrow.
