Provincial Businesswomen’s Club has awarded scholarships worth nearly VND400mln to excellent pupils and those who have difficult circumstances but still studied well for the 2010 and 2011 academic year, aiming to encourage them in study.

Provincial Businesswomen’s Club awarding scholarships to excellent pupils and those who have circumstances, but still studied well at Hung Vuong Specialized High School for the 2010 and 2011 academic year

Nguyen Thanh Thuan is a 12th grade pupil of Hung Vuong Specialized High School in TDM town. Despite having hard circumstance, Thuan still studies well.

His father died in a traffic accident when he was two months old. Every day, his mother is very hard to earn money to feed him by buying boiled peanuts.

To show gratitude to his mother, he frequently helps his mother carry boiled peanuts to buy and always tries to study well. He has been an excellent pupil for many consecutive years, won a silver medal of the 30/4 Olympic contest and a provincial-level third prize in literature…And his current dream is to become a student.

Dao Thi Mai Thu Suong is also a poor-but-excellent pupil of Le Quy Don primary school in Di An town. She cried when telling about her hard circumstance. His farther has just died of heart disease. Currently, her mother becomes a main laborer of the 5-member family, including a 30 month-old-child and an old and weak grandmother.

After school hours, Suong returns home to help her grandmother do housework. Suong also frequently falls ill, but she has always obtained high results in study. Her current dream is to become a teacher…

Thuan and Suong are only two among many poor-but-excellent pupils who were honored in the 2010 and 2011 academic year.

Golden hearts

Provincial Businesswomen’s Club has awarded gifts worth nearly VND400mln (including VND60mln in cash and English scholarships at the Asian American Foreign Language and Computer Center) to excellent pupils and those who have hard circumstances, but still studied well at 8 schools in the province for the 2010 and 2011 academic year.

Vu Kieu Nu, head of the club said that VND60mln in cash were funded by members of the club and English scholarships were sponsored by Huynh Thi Tuyet Hanh, director of the Asian American Foreign Language and Computer Center, who is also a member of the club.

Awarding scholarships to excellent pupils and those who have circumstances, but still study well is one of the club’s significant activities with the hope of helping them try to gain high results in study…
