Update: 28-09-2012 | 00:00:00

More than 250 overseas Vietnamese (OV) and 70 local administration officials and business representatives have met for a symposium, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on September 27.

The event is in the framework of the second conference for OVs on September 27-29, featuring the theme “Vision to 2020 – the Overseas Vietnamese Community’s Integration and Development with the Nation”.

The symposium, co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, aims to create a closer link between Vietnamese nationals living abroad and call for more support and contribution to the homeland.

The event is expected to help local businesses access foreign markets through OV partners.

On the occasion, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoIT) will hold an award presentation ceremony for outstanding OV businesses.

The organizing board will arrange for the OV delegation to visit a number of companies producing goods for export.
