Over 300 loan projects for nearly 2,350 blind people set up

On July 29, provincial Association Blind held a conference to summarize the 30-year implementation of the program for the blind to borrow loans from the National Fund for Employment from 1992 to 2022; set out orientations, tasks, goals and solutions for the implementation of the program in the period of 2022-2032.

Over the past time, the total principal capital entrusted by the Vietnam Blind Association Central Committee and provincial People's Committee through the Bank for Social Policies and assigned to provincial Blind Association was more than VND 1.62 billion. Provincial Blind Association established 303 projects with a total revolving capital of more than VND13.43 billion, helping 2,348 members and blind people get capital for job creation, attracting 4,694 employees. Provincial Blind Association well cooperated with the Bank for Social Policies to opportunely extend the debt repayment period for 13 projects with VND 673 million; petitioned the Bank for Social Policies to cancel debt for a loan-getting member who died with the amount of VND 15 million…

In the coming period, provincial Blind Association will further promote propaganda, strengthen inspection and supervision of the use of loans among members. The association also proposed the Bank for Social Policies to create favorable conditions for the blind to borrow loans at their needs to develop homebased business, gradually improving their quality of life.

On this occasion, provincial Blind Association presented the certificates of merit to 7 collectives and 17 individuals with excellent achievements in implementing the program for the blind to borrow loans from the National Fund for Employment from 1992 to 2022.
