Pedestrianised areas around Hoan Kiem lake to open again from May 15

Update: 15-05-2020 | 11:18:25

The walking streets that surround Hoan Kiem lake and other nearby locations throughout downtown Hanoi are set to resume operation from May 15, announced the Hoan Kiem district’s administration.

Pedestrian areas are set to reopen to cover streets such as Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Lai, Le Thach, Dinh Le, Nguyen Xi, Trang Tien, Hang Khay, Le Thai To, Lo Su, Hang Dau, Tran Nguyen Han, Hoan Kiem, Luong Van Can, Bao Khanh, along with Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square

The walking streets will be open to the public from Friday evenings to Sunday nights, between 7:00pm and 12:00pm during the summer, and from 6:00pm to 12:00pm in the winter.

The local administration requested that events held on these streets should observe novel coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention measures as adopted by the central and local governments.

The move to reopen the walking space around Hoan Kiem Lake – a tourist attraction in the heart of the capital - to the public comes after operations were officially suspended on February 7 in order to limit gatherings and curb the potential spread of the COVID-19.
