Phu Giao celebrates Vietnam Sports Day

Phu Giao district’s Division of Culture and Information has just organized a get-together to mark the 68th anniversary of the Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946-March 27, 2014).

At the get-together, delegates reviewed the 68-year development of Vietnam’s sports sector. Since being re-established, Phu Giao district has made much progress in the sports field. The ratio of the local people regularly doing exercises has so far reached 28.68%. The district has also set up around 30 sports clubs, including those of Taichi, tennis, badminton, martial arts, chess, football…Sports clubs at district-based schools have absorbed a large number of pupils, thereby sorting out outstanding individuals to attend the national and regional sports festival and Phu Dong Sports Festivals at all levels.

On this occasion, the organizers also presented prizes to athletes who gained excellent achievements in the events of bag jumping, badminton, table tennis organized by the district’s Center for Culture-Information and Sports.
