Phu Giao district develops amateur singing

Don ca tai tu (DCTT) (amateur singing) is an elegant and indispensable pleasure to spiritual life of people in southern area as well as Binh Duong province. To develop, preserve unique features of this kind of art, Phu Giao district’s government and cultural sector have made efforts to bring together many talents to the district. Thus, in recent years, DCTT has become a cultural activity of local people’s spiritual life.

 

At the present, the district has more than 10 DCTT clubs, in which An Binh commune’s DCTT club has been highly evaluated. The club was established in 2007 with 20 members and has operated effectively. An Binh commune’s cultural official Mr. Dang Van Giap said: “The club has regularly practiced skills, organized meetings, participated in local cultural events in big holidays in order to serve cultural needs of local people”.

Phu Giao district Culture Information – Sport Center’s Director Mr. Pham Van Nghia said: “Local DCTT clubs have been established in order to not only create sound playgrounds for people but also gather talents being interested in this kind of art, especially for the youth to learn about unique art form of the South”.

 

According to provincial Culture – Sport & Tourism Department’s Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Minh Nghia, DCTT movement has been developed in Phu Giao district lately. However, many talents have been gathered here. This year’s provincial DCTT contest will be organized by Phu Giao district. This would be a good chance for DCTT movement of the district to continue to grow.

 

The formation of DCTT club is a spiritual cultural need of people. Thanks to attention, supports from local Party and government, DCTT movement has been broadened in terms of scale and quality. Annual plans have been devised for these clubs to uphold and enhance this kind of art, which was recognized as Intangible cultural Heritage of Humanity.
